About Bloomwise and Founder, Katie Piehl
With a passion for future generations, Bloomwise founder Katie Piehl is fueled by the urgency to address climate change by supporting the growth and transformation of climate-minded organizations.

We believe you have the power to influence and shift the mindset of society by transforming our built environment into efficient, healthy, and green spaces. In particular we love working in spaces communities come into contact with regularly - our schools and community facilities. At Bloomwise we are committed to climate justice and prioritize work where communities have been most impacted by the affects of climate change.

​Bloomwise’s founder, Katie Piehl, stands as an accomplished navigator of change. Rooted in her passion for systemic design and societal impact, her journey has traversed a diverse professional landscape, from working with the Minnesota Legislature on public systems evaluations to pioneering the growth of an innovative school design as the National Partner for Charter School Development with Wildflower Schools. Katie successfully secured a $12M federal replication grant to solidify the network's growth trajectory over the next five years.
Climate action that is seen and felt is core to Bloomwise's vision. For instance, Bloomwise secured a $15M Renew America's Schools prize that will renovate 21 charter school sites across 10 states in low-income, disadvantaged communities and continues to support the organization's transformation as a green mission-driven community lender. In her spare time, Katie enjoys experiencing every season, including hockey season, living in Minnesota with her husband and children.
